pro familia Münster

pro familia is committed to ensuring that all people can live their sexuality in a self-determined way. However, when sexual experiences are accompanied by violence, this self-determination is violated. As the German Association for Family Planning, Sex Education and Sexual Counselling, we help young people and adults in such situations with professional and confidential counselling and group services. pro familia is a Germany-wide network of counselling centres and a recognized pregnancy conflict counselling centre.

Who we advise

Women, men, trans*, non-binary, inter*

The target groups are children (up to 13 years), adolescents (from 14 years), young adults (16-21 years), adults (from 18 years) who are victims of violence or have experienced violence, perpetrators, perpetrators of violence, relatives, friends and professionals.

We are an independent organization/own association.

Membership of the network:

We are a member of the working group 'Against violence against women and girls'.

What we advise on

We focus on the topics of sexualized violence, FGM_C (female genital mutilation), partnership conflicts, homophobic and trans*phobic violence. We are not a specialized counselling centre on the topic of violence, but these topics are always discussed in our counselling sessions and groups.

How we counsel

We provide counseling in the form of personal counseling, group offers, crisis intervention, online counseling, telephone counseling, anonymous counseling, further education/training of multipliers, couple/relationship counseling for heterosexual couples, couple/relationship counseling for homosexual couples, couple/relationship counseling for bi- and pansexual couples, family counseling.

Languages, accessibility and costs

Counseling in other languages/interpreting support is available in English. Other languages are available on request.
